How to put your best foot forward when publishing with SJBE

In today’s academic world, undergraduate college admissions has become more competitive than ever. Research can separate you from other students applying to elite colleges. This post walks through the process for publishing at the Student Journal of Business and Economics.

1. Do I pay before or after the review?

All papers undergo a peer review process with members of the editorial team. You only pay the publication fee if your paper is accepted. If your manuscript does not meet our formatting guidelines, we also offer a $100 reformatting service so that you do not have to revise the document yourself. Let us know at submission if you would like to use this service.

2. What makes SJBE different from other journals?

The Student Journal of Business and Economics is the only high school journal focused specifically on business and economics. Most other journals are general or weighted toward liberal arts and STEM. If you are a high school student considering a business or economics major in college, SJBE is the most relevant place to publish your work.

3. How can I make sure my paper is accepted?

At a minimum, your paper must follow our submission guidelines: maximum 20 pages, single-spaced, Times New Roman 12 pt body, Chicago / Turabian citation style. Use our manuscript template as a starting document. Papers that do not meet the formatting requirements are returned at the initial review stage, so it is worth taking the time to format correctly before submission.
