Plagiarism & Academic Conduct Policy
1. Purpose
The Student Journal of Business and Economics (SJBE) is committed to maintaining the highest standards of academic integrity. All submitted work must be original, properly cited, and created ethically.
2. Prohibited Conduct
The following actions are strictly prohibited and may result in immediate rejection, withdrawal, or retraction of a manuscript:
a. Plagiarism

Copying text, data, or ideas from any source without proper citation

Self-plagiarism (submitting previously published work as new)
b. Fabrication & Falsification

Making up data, results, survey responses, or interviews

Manipulating or altering research findings

Misrepresenting research methodology
c. Unethical Research Practices

Conducting surveys or interviews without appropriate consent

Collecting data from minors without parental permission

Misusing confidential or proprietary information
3. Screening
SJBE screens submissions using plagiarism-detection software. Manuscripts with significant overlap may be automatically rejected.
4. Author Responsibility
Authors are fully responsible for:

The accuracy of their citations

The integrity of their data and findings
-
Ensuring the work complies with all ethical and legal standards

SJBE may retract published papers found to violate this policy.

These Terms of Service govern your use of the Student Journal of Business and Economics (“SJBE,” “we,” “our,” or “us”), including submissions, publications, and website access.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing this website or submitting a manuscript, you agree to abide by these Terms of Service and all related policies.
2. Eligibility
SJBE primarily publishes work by high-school students, but we may accept submissions from early undergraduates when appropriate.
3. User Conduct
Users agree not to:

4. Intellectual Property

All non-author content (branding, layout, editorial content) belongs to SJBE and cannot be reused without permission.
6. Disclaimers
SJBE:

Does not guarantee acceptance or publication

Does not verify the accuracy of all content

Is not liable for damages arising from use of published material

Author Publishing Agreement
1. Grant of Rights
Upon acceptance of the manuscript, the Author grants SJBE a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to:

Publish the work in SJBE

Archive the work on SJBE’s website

Assign a DOI
-
Distribute the work digitally for educational purposes

The Author retains full copyright.
2. Exclusivity During Review
The Author confirms that:

The manuscript is not under review elsewhere

The manuscript will not be submitted to another journal until SJBE provides a decision

This ensures clarity of publication rights.
3. Originality & Integrity
The Author confirms that:

The work is original and does not infringe third-party rights

All data is accurate and ethically collected

All citations are properly credited

No part of the work is plagiarized or previously published
4. Author Responsibilities
The Author agrees to:

Respond promptly to editorial requests

Complete revisions as needed

5. Retraction & Corrections
SJBE may retract or correct the paper after publication if:

6. Withdrawal
The Author may withdraw the manuscript before acceptance.
Withdrawal after acceptance is discouraged and may require justification.
7. Liability
